Job shadowing is an opportunity for students to gain real world knowledge of a career. Students are placed on site for one day during a 4-6 hour placement. They observe what a career in their field of interest really entails, which helps them determine if that career is something they definitely want to pursue, or not. Job shadowing offers a chance to begin networking and to gain valuable information about needed education or training while exposing them to the reality of a job or career. The students can then use this information to make an informed career decision.
