BB2C Epicenter | Scholarship Program

Participation Guidelines

BACKGROUND

Buckeye Hills Regional Council awarded Building Bridges to Careers (BB2C) funding to support 10 individuals and 5 small manufacturing or start-up businesses. Individual and business scholarship recipients would participate in a full year of Epicenter programs with a rolling start date.  Applicants can be accepted into the program up until July 2020.

Individual scholarships would cover a 1-year makerspace membership, with participation in a required minimum of 2 classes per month and 2 Epicenter hours per week (or 25 hours per quarter) required for independent project work. Participating individuals would receive training based on the individual plan or the small business plan created before participation in the program. At the end of the year, participants would receive a certificate of participation which will list all completed classes, micro-credentials earned for equipment mastery, and descriptions of projects completed independently in a portfolio. Individuals will be referred to other area workforce development training facilities to further their education as appropriate, and/or would be supported in their efforts to secure employment. Small businesses or individuals starting businesses would receive support in building and growing their business, including referrals to other area resource providers.
